75th Anniversary Discover Fair Oaks Challenge


Whether you have lived here your entire life or just recently joined the Fair Oaks community, this journey will have you exploring Fair Oaks and discovering some very interesting history along the way. Complete the journey and pick up a prize at the FORPD Pop-Up History Gallery events on Oct. 9 or 10 (see below).

Plan ahead!  This journey of discovery may take many hours and requires you to travel by vehicle and on foot to a specific place or amenity in Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District operated parks/facilities. The following items will be needed to participate: cell phone to access the “journey” and to take pictures and a water bottle to stay hydrated. You may consider packing a lunch to enjoy a picnic along the way.

75th Anniversary Pop-Up Gallery


VILLAGE PARK  |  FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9  |  4:30 PM - 6:30 PM

PHOENIX PARK  |  SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10  |  9:30 AM - 11:30 AM

Stop by and view old newspapers, artifacts, spin the wheel for a prize, and talk with resident Fair Oaks historians, Ralph Carhart (FORPD Board Director) and representatives from the Fair Oaks Historical Center.  Be sure to complete the Discover Fair Oaks Challenge prior to attending so that you may pick up your Discovery prize.

*All visitors of the outdoor pop-up gallery must wear a face covering and maintain a distance of at least 6 feet between oneself and others. Please, do not attend if you have experienced any COVID-19 symptoms or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
